Ria Tims,

I am self taught but have taken several art classes from some well known artists. Art is in my genes.

On advice I started exhibiting my work and consequently have sold quite a number of my works which is very exciting. I have also done one commission job which was rather daunting but exciting and challenging.

Art has always been a big part of my life as my father was also an artist. I am a descendant of the famous well known Flemish/Dutch artist Jan van Eyck, a heritage I am very proud of.

i have now as well mastered the art of the making my own frames for my works which is quite challenging.

i have a passion for Suprematism Art and Cubism Art which was Pioneered by Pablo Picasso in the early 1900's As well I adore Geomatric abstraction art and artists like Kandinsky Pollock De Kooning and especially Kashmir Malevich and Piet Mondrian.
Abstract expressionism is the term applied to new forms of abstract art i.e Jackson Pollock. So many great European artists followed this genre. I visited he Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and admired the artworks of Kazimir Malevich, absolutely amazing. I love suprematism art but I have noticed that this type of art is not very popular especially here in Australia.

Perhaps being a European and as well having been surrounded by art and artists and photographers all of my younge life has inspired me to be creative and original.  I love colour mixing and I feel that colours portray one's moods, I therefore use many colours in my artworks.
