ARTIST BIO

Patricia (Trish) grew up in Sandringham, Victoria in a family that encouraged her love of painting and drawing. Throughout her school years she loved her Art classes but also enjoyed Science. She completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours at The University of Melbourne, majoring in Botany. She held a number of research positions in Plant Science and, while working, completed her Master of Science degree. Throughout these years she continued drawing & painting.

In 2006 she joined the Glen Eira Cheltenham Art Group (GECAG), where she took watercolour classes with Margaret Gurney, Margaret Metcalf, Craig Penny & Maxine Wade. She has attended many workshops, most recently with Marc Folly, Alvaro Castagnet, Thomas Schaller & Fabio Cembranelli. She has been on painting trips, to Italy with Ev Hales, South Australia with Amanda Hyatt, Queeensland with Craig Penny, Tasmania with Clive Sinclair & Victoria's high country with Ben Winspear. In addition to her membership of GECAG (Committee), Glen Eira Artists Society & Watercolour Society of Victoria she paints weekly with the Bayside en pleinair group (Beaumaris Art Group).

Her work has been exhibited & sold in several Rotary Shows (including Camberwell), local community & Art Group shows & the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

Recently, October 2023, she was invited to have a Solo Exhibition at the beautiful Kinross Art Centre, Toorak where she sold 20 out of 35 watercolour paintings.

She has also done several commission works. She loves experimenting with new watercolour techniques & subjects which is reflected in the variety of her work. She especially enjoys painting flowers & en plein air scenes on site.
